We Love Accents is a website which celebrates the regional accents of the British Isles.
We are proud of our regional accents and that we have so many rich and varied accents.

We hope that you enjoy our website, enjoy watching the videos, reading our informative webpages, and taking part in our fun competitions.

We want this website to be about real people. We want to meet you online, chat to you in our chatroom (coming July 2012) and hear your wonderful accents. 

But if you want to get even more involved, and send us your accent-related video clips, sound clips and interesting articles, that would be fantastic. So, if you're a Geordie Elvis, or a West Country rapper, or a budding filmmaker, comedian or just fancy writing a webpage to tell us about your town/area... this could be your opportunity to shine!!! If you click on the You're The Star link, you will see there are a host of ways to contribute to our website. You will also find some nifty tools and guides there, to make shooting your own videos really easy, after which we would love you to share them with us.

HOW TO PLAY THE ACCENT MAP QUIZ :

Down the left hand side of the quiz you will find 11 buttons (A - M). As you move your mouse over those buttons, each one will play a different accent voice clip. There is one accent voice clip from each of the accent areas on the map ( 1 - 11 ). As you listen to each of the accent voice clips, type the number of the area on the map which you think that accent is from, into the textbox next to each of the voice buttons. When you wish to see how many you have identified correctly, click the Calculate My Score button in the bottom left hand corner of the map, and it will reveal your score.
